Exquisite Halal Ramen Shops in Tokyo Everyone Loves!

Traveling when you have diet restrictions can be quite frustrating. Rest assured, there are a few restaurants where you can enjoy Japan's incredibly popular RAMEN. Either the owner or the staff is Muslim, but most of the restaurants are Halal. Those which aren't have vegan options.

Honolu Ramen

Osaka's extremely popular ramen restaurant has opened two stores in Tokyo; one in Nihonbashi, and one in Ebisu.
You can enjoy the very popular spicy ramen as well as other Japanese foods, such as Sukiyaki and Takoyaki. You should also try the gyoza and fried chicken.
The Ebisu restaurant has two floors; the first floor has about 5 seats at the counter, and around 12 people can sit on the second floor. There is also a prayer room.
There are around 21 seats available at the Nihonbashi branch.

Price: ¥ 780 ~ ¥ 2,500

Ramen Ouka

This is quite a small restaurant with only around 12 seats so we highly recommend making a reservation if you want to avoid a long wait. The choices offered on the menu are somewhat limited, with only 4-5 options to choose from, but it is also vegan friendly!
Price:¥1,128 - ¥2,482

Naritaya

This restaurant is situated in the heart of Asakusa, it is quite close to the Senso-ji temple. As well as the halal ramen, you should also try the fried chicken and the gyoza. Please inform the staff if would like to use the prayer room first.

Price:¥ 700 ~

Ayam-YA Okachimachi

This restaurant has branches in Kyoto and in Kuala Lumpur, and now in Ueno.
It is located close to a mosque.
The restaurant is quite big so you can relax and slowly enjoy the ramen.
The ramen is made from chicken broth and doesn't feel to heavy.

Menya Kaijin

Menya Kaijin serves a soft broth that is made from fish so it is very different. The broth contains chicken balls and prawn balls, it is a very unique take on ramen and it's delicious! It is a very popular restaurant, so prepare to wait in line for a bit.

Afuri

Their signature dish is the Yuzu Shio Ramen and the Yuzu Shoyu Ramen. The first is made with chicken and dashi broth, yuzu (a Japanese citrus), and the latter has shoyu (soy sauce) as well.
They also have seasonal ramen, and seasonal vegan ramen so even your vegetarian friends can find something to their liking.
