Intricate Japanese and French Fusion

There's this certain wow-factor about all the dishes that owner and chef Takazawa creates. Definitely one of the best French Asian fusion cuisine restaurants in Tokyo is what lots of their customers say. "Fantastic dishes, great creativity, awesome flavours, and friendly service."

It's probably some of the more inventive cuisine to come out of Tokyo in recent years and words can't really describe for the visual appeal of Takazawa's creations!

Undoubtedly his most photographed dish is the Ratatouille terrine. Totally photogenic and a new take on this classic French dish.
The restaurant is more of a small art gallery than a traditional eatery. The place only seats about 10 people which gives it this kind of exclusivity that you don't get much anywhere else.
Born in Tokyo in the beginning of 1976, Takazawa grew up in a family surrounded by food. At 18 years old, he went to culinary school and worked at various restaurants after graduating. Thoroughly interested in the world of food he also received a sommelier qualification with his love for fantastic wine. In 2005 founded he founded his own company, Tu Juleval and opened Aronia de Takazawa the same year. All these years later he still delights guests with an unforgettable experience!

The food

The food is exquisite, to say the least. Just look at it. It's food art at its best!
Every piece of food is delicately prepared and plated using French and Japanese techniques.
Some of the dishes take you to a whole new world altogether!
And some are a contemporary take on traditional Japanese dishes.

Booking

Booking here is definitely something you should do a little further in advance as places get snapped up pretty quickly. They take bookings from the 1st of every month and take reservation requests till the end of the following month.

They offer really only one course at Takazawa, and it comes at a high cost. Though this is what you would expect for something so delicate and personal.

<< TAKAZAWA Experience menu >>

Due to the size of the place they can only make a reservation for party of two or more ( and up to 10).

Getting there

From Akasaka station, it's less than a 5-minute walk. Look out for the sleep looking glass door for the entrance to the restaurant.
