Hokushinzushi Sendai Station Location 北辰鮨 仙台駅店
You can get a lunch special of 10 pieces for just ¥1,050 and there are also rice bowls with sushi toppings at comparable prices. If you want a more luxurious set, you can have the ¥2,050 which also comes with a maki sushi and a miso soup. The lunch beer is ¥200. The neta toppings are big and fresh, and if you take the more deluxe courses you get some expensive sushi such as uni (sea urchin) in your set.
You can order sashimi and sushi but Dontatsu is more of a kaisen-don place. A kaisen-don is a bowl of sushi rice topped with various sushi neta (toppings, mostly sashimi). These are usually between ¥1,000 and ¥2,000.
Sushi Hokushinzushi 北辰鮨 三井アウトレットパーク仙台港店
Here's another Hokushizushi branch because it is quite arguably one of the best names in Sendai for cheap sushi. This is in a more remote part of Sendai, located at about a 13-minute walk from the Nakano Sakae Station.
Umai Sushikan うまい鮨勘
This is a chain sushi restaurant that is popular in Sendai. You can get the standard kinds of sushi plus some rare seasonal ones too. They always offer specials depending on what is in season at the time. Ask for that to get some seriously good sushi that is guaranteed to be fresh.
Located a 5-minute walk from the Kotodai Park Station.
Sushi Dining Tachibana たちばな
At Tachibana, both the sushi bowls and the sushi plates are recommended. You can have lunch specials from around ¥1,000. What you should try here though is probably the Sendai Zukedon (bowl of rice topped with sashimi and ingredients from Miyagi), which is a specialty only found in Miyagi.
