Fuji Rock Festival 2019: The Largest Outdoor Music Festival In Japan!

Fuji Rock Festival is the largest outdoor music festival in Japan, and it is annually held in the Naeba Ski Resort, which is located in Niigata. It is known as the world's cleanest festival as they promote in protecting the environment and bringing music and the environment together. Each year, more than 200 Japanese and international musicians perform throughout the 3 days, so it is a big event that you should definitely check out!

Fuji Rock Festival 2019

Fuji Rock Festival first took place in Tenjinyama Ski Resort located close to Mt. Fuji, but since 1999, it always takes place in Naeba, Niigata. Although it is nowhere close to Mt. Fuji, the name remains as Fuji Rock Festival. This year, the festival will take place again in Naeba, and will run from July 26 to July 28.
There are over 200 artists performing in different stages and days, but the confirmed headline acts are Bob Dylan & His Band, Kendrick Lamar, and N.E.R.D! There will also be Skrillex, Vampire Weekend, Sakanaction, Brahman, and CHVRCHES Make sure you check the time tables and check where your favorite artists will perform beforehand!

Ticket Information

As the festival takes place for 3 days, you can buy a 3-day ticket which is ¥45,000, which allows you to stay from July 26th to July 28th. If it is a 2-day ticket, the price is ¥36,000 and a 1-day ticket is ¥20,000.
*You can get cheaper tickets if you buy them in advance.

Depending on if you are buying the ticket from overseas or from Japan, the system you use is different, so make sure to check the website.
Bring your ticket on the day and the staff will exchange it with a wristband.

Food & Beverages

There are more than 100 food and drink stands. You can enjoy sake from Niigata, wine and cocktails from worldwide. They have a variety of food using local Niigata ingredients, and you will find it difficult to choose from so many options! Although Fuji Rock is a music festival, it is also a festival to enjoy food, art, attractions, movies and nature, so you will be able to enjoy every second of this festival!

Access

The most nearby station is Echigo Uzawa station, and there are shuttle buses running from 7:00am and will cost you ¥500.
