Best Breakfast Near Nagoya Station Worth Walking Up For!

Searching for the best breakfast in Nagoya? Visit one of these places and you will have a great morning. The list includes spots where you can enjoy the Nagoya's breakfast specialty "ogura toast", buffet, and noodles, all of them are famous and near (or inside) Nagoya Station!

BUCYO Coffee KAKO

This long-established cafe serves one of the best ogura toast in Nagoya. Located around 10 minutes walk from Nagoya station.

Ogura toast is a Nagoya's local dish for breakfast basically made of a thick slice of toasted bread and sweet red bean paste on the top. Their bread is so soft and fluffy that goes well with the elegant sweetness of the red bean paste and the whipped cream. The set meal, a cup of coffee and the ogura toast,is 600 yen.

Riyon (リヨン)

Riyon is a famous cafe located 5 minutes walk away from Nagoya Station. You can feel the nice and retro atmosphere.

They serve the ogura toast breakfast set meal too, but their ogura toast is pressed sandwich style that is definitely must-try. It is very cheap, you just order a cup or glass of drink (410 yen~) and your choice of sandwich comes together. Also, Riyon actually offer the breakfast menu throughout the day at the price of just a drink, so it could be your light lunch or dessert.

Konparu (コンパル)

Konparu is a cafe that has been very popular with both locals and visitors for 60 years. There are 9 locations in Nagoya now, including the one in the shopping street on the basement of Nagoya Station.

They specialize in sandwiches. The most popular one is the fried shrimp sandwich (930 yen/3 large sandwiches). Another popular menu is the ham and egg hot sandwich, only available at breakfast time (your choice of drink + 130 yen).

Chapeau blanc (シャポーブラン)

If you prefer buffet, Chapeau blanc is the place to go. Just 2 minutes walk away from the station.

The greatest thing is the breakfast buffet is as cheap as 490 yen! You can choose from a nice selection of freshly baked bread and sandwiches. Try various Japanese style bread all in one place.

Sumiyoshi (住よし)

People sometimes eat noodles for breakfast and Sumiyoshi offers Nagoya's specialty noodles called "kishimen" from 7am. Located on the platform of Nagoya Station.

Kishimen is a type of udon, a Japanese white noodles. It is flatter, thinner, and more smooth than regular udon. Sumiyoshi is one of the most famous kishimen shop on Nagoya, serving the cheap (350 yen~), quick, and tasty kishimen.
